Valheim
Signwright
Build a plank the way the game draws it, then save a file or a link you can open on your PC.
12 in tags · 12 in words · 2 in breaks
Letters carve as capitals. Hover text in the game still shows the casing you typed. Untagged words are black and shrink to fit; a size tag is absolute, and 14 fills the board.
<#c74>⛏ Ore\n<#899>🔩 BarsThe text file is exactly what a sign holds. Open it on your PC, select all, and paste it in. The link reloads this same plank in a browser.
Lines
Each piece can take its own ink. A new line is a real line break, written as \n so it costs two characters.

Symbols
They drop into the selected piece. A 2 means the game charges two characters. In the world they carve in the active ink, not as full-color emoji.
These are one character each.
Kept signs
Stored in this browser, so a good portal name is still here tomorrow.
Nothing kept yet.
How a Valheim sign actually reads this
- The plank holds 50 characters, counted the way the game stores text. Tags, spaces, and \n all spend that budget. Many emoji cost 2.
- Save .txt is the text the game will keep, including arrows and runes. Share link opens the same plank on another computer.
- Colors are short hex, never a color name. Copper is
<#c74>, not<color=red>. Going back to black is<#000>, which is shorter than</color>. - A positive rotation turns each letter counter-clockwise, the same direction the game uses.
- Other closing tags are left off when a style runs to the end of the sign. Bold does nothing.
- The underline takes the ink that is active when the underline opens. Set the color first.
- Without a size tag the game fits the words, up to about size 8. Size 14 fills the plank. Bigger than that floats off the board. A negative size flips the letters.
- Emoji from 2024 onward can show up as an empty box. Joined emoji and skin tones are drawn as separate pieces.
- Runes carve on the wood. The in-game edit box may show squares until you confirm the sign.
